It’s a big question, one with no single simple answer. I do believe that answers are emerging. For the system to work better, doctors must be better knit together with it – and with each other – economically, clinically, and technologically. That does not mean, though, that they have to all draw a paycheck. There are many business and clinical structures that could create “virtual accountable care” among independent docs.
